I recently finished up a project with Liyah, the owner of Liyah frozen and foodstuffs, Lagos Nigeria. My part in the project was to create a brand logo for the business as they have been operating for a while without a logo. Here’s my design process and a walkthrough of how the final logo is created in Figma.

Liyah frozen and foodstuff is a small business into wholesale and retailing of frozen products and food stuffs.
After some initial correspondence with Liyah via whatsApp chat we had fleshed out some thoughts on the style of the logo and what values would be presented through it.

One requirement was that the logo should use a separate graphic element along with the Liyah frozen & foodstuffs wording. Otherwise, there was creative freedom surrounding the design – which is always nice!

I started work sketching out my ideas for the logo, my main focus for the graphic of the logo was to display the letters L and F in a way that there is a frozen (round) fish circulating the letter mark and then the business name balancing it out at the right.
After conducting a little research, I came up with three colours for the logo which are Blue, Orange, and white then Lufga and FF Mark as the typefaces.

Lufga was used for the bold letter mark "LF and LIYAH" while FF Mark was used for "FROZEN & FOODSTUFFS".

The final combination logo was submitted in a 3D mockup, and in monotone of black, white, orange, and blue.
